I wanted to be an actress since 3rd grade. Instead of reading my book report like the rest of my classmates, I took the chains from my childhood swingset, wrapped them around me like an iron burrito and reported on The History of Joan of Arc as Joan herself. I even made my teacher cry. Who's to say if she was genuinely touched, or had sunscreen in her eye, but after that moment I knew I wanted to move people.
Not to mention -- all that laughing, crying, and starry-eyed gazing is good for one's health. And pretty good for the resume too. I've won a few awards in my day, but one of my favorites was when I got a Webby Honorable Mention for Best Dramatic Series for Meet Me in the Graveyard a web series I wrote, produced and starred in.
